Hi everyone,

I know this topic is related to scripting/programming, but in my case, I stopped game development because of it, usually game engines developers restrict and love to continue the habit of not having A.I. optionally available and rather left to the programer which many potential developers like can't spent time doing or have difficulity to yell and scream online to get someone to do it.

I studied c/c++ in college but thats about it, if a game developer decided to have A.I. behaviors available along with the awesome WYSIWYG you have pretty much a complete set to focus only in the storyline, graphics, animation, and other non-programming issues, simply as that, and I believe not only me, dozens of artistic gamers wish to have the power under their finger tips.

but I guess its still a far cry to be realized, in the future, this will be realized and sadly we will have to wait long and longer until somebody realize it.

I can purchase any game engine but this is my main obstacle, seriously,  and its been since 2004 since I started to see games like FAR CRY had preset of AI behaviors, those behaviors are not out of this world. its scripted, fixed, only customized to certain degrees but all games behave the same, so who not having it along with the WYSIWYG ?? complete the package and save dozen of graphic designers, animators, artists to make dozen of games!

I hope the development team behind gamecore can have it added or sell it as a plugin if it feels odd to be builtn it to the engine, i will pay for it! just do it.

I am still checking devmaster.net for everyone game engine that comes up and follow up.

that's all what I have to say, I am simply planting the seeds and hoping to would flower someday.

Not to mention alot of companies, give UPDATES out for free. and at 1500 it should just have free updates. FL Studio for example. Free updates for life.

Gamecore just needs another business model.
The addon packs are a good start, but, You could have more of those, and have some sort of peer Asset Sales, (Like TurboSquid with Max)

Example:

One person or group of persons, create a set of addons for Gamecore and sell it through this site. then Helios could take 15% off the top. this would attract users to create more, as well as become another form of income from Gamecore for both the creator of the addon pack, and Helios. Just my thoughts.

Arteria3d have just launched their new pack -'Fortified Manor House'

Fortified Manor House pack with full interior, based on Stokesay Castle in Shropshire, England.  This manor house built in the 12th century, was in later centuries also classed as a castle due to its design with battlemtns, and moat setting.  Interstingly with this realworld site, is the half timbre design of the gatehouse and additonal addon buildings in its courtyard.  The pack features a great hall with interior props such as tables, chairs, and fires to bring the scene to life.  Also features other interior areas, such as a hidden basement.  Would be a great additon to a game scenario as home to a grand lord, or guild.

Product Page:

Also for the first 4 people who purchase this pack, i can offer a single year membership to arteria3d for $189

IMO its just about picking the right engine to do the job. but I'll check out 3D Rad, and will likely use it for a while, but I'll probably never leave gamecore seeing as it was the first 3D engine id actually been able to figure out.

Lol I'll agree with pix, Some new Templates would be nice. (Also agreeing with pix, I'd particularly like an RPG Template, just so I could see about how its all put together, instead of pestering the forum every 5 min)

Wow... that is by far the lamest thing I've ever heard (seen)... patents should be only used for Physical Items. not Virtual Code, or general ideas. If i read that right (and fully understood it) . its basically the same thing if Lamborghini or Ferrari was sued for making a Supercar.

jeez patents and copyright garbage is getting... to be irritating

But, I'll continue to make games, regardless...

(above, please correct me if I read that wrong or misunderstood it)

I actually purchased Unity pro v3 and am very happy with it. I have been able to progress much further. There are more tutorials/demos available and I can use C# which I know very well.  I love the drag and drop GUI features, easy to relate code to an object. I am just trying to get my blender modelling skills up with the new version. I am working on a tutorial from blender cookie which is great, takes you through creating a complete character with accessories. Since I have a gc license, I will check back from time to time, but am moving forward with Unity 3d.
