So the island demo....
You, the community, have expressed some desire for a bit more out of your island demo. Next to the multiplayer racing template the island demo is little more than a character and spawner example. I was given the green light to create a much more complete island demo and I am here to leak you some screens and let you know some of the features being added to the demo world.
New Demo World Features:Functionality:Added LOD swaps
Added Spawner LOD swaps
Added lights to game objects
Added lots of FX (both particle and beam)
Added ambient and 3d sound effects
Added Triggers
Added a head to the soldier (under the helmet visible through the transparent visor)
Added foliage vertex animation
Added a cave world for ?level swapping? (still in proof of concept ? we're changing the level swapping to make it more intuitive)
A New Character (Enemy) - the dreaded hobBOT
A night scene with custom skybox (and world):You can see how to animate cloud textures
Adjust lighting for night
Easily augment the skybox
New Art:New Trees
New ground plants
Rocks
Houses
Torches and Firepits with FX and sound
New Decorative Models
New Scripts:Level Swapping
Light controls
This is just some of the new changes being rolled out to the new demo. There will be many more additions as we get closer to releasing this update. I'll do a write up of the story elements that make up this new world this week, I know you guys care a bit more about the demo features =P



It's still a WIP, but its coming along nicely. I can't wait to get it to you =)
