I don't use my C drive for anything so I want to change it from the default C:\GameCore\Projects to G:\GameCore\Projects but I can't find anywhere to change it.

Also is anyone else having problems with the file browser?
When I click on 'GameCore Projects' it's fine, 'Recent Locations' is fine too. But when I click on 'Computer' to select a different drive, it slows to an absolute crawl taking about 5/6 seconds to respond to mouse clicks. It's making things quite difficult.

hi,
same here, and my disc drive begins to start and so on..
think its at the moment not the best solution.
Forgets the path to my projectfile, so I must ever slowly klick me
down to the project or to objects in there.
This feature needs more love from the devs, I think.. sry Smiley

Same here on the file browser....

Incidentally, what is it with software developers always insisting on everything going into the C: drive?
They of all people should know that it is neither safe or smart....
And the excuse that most users aren't savvy enough to know how to use a program outside it's default settings don't cut it...not with graphics programs anyway....

I just reinstalled gamecore on my D drive. I got no access violations and no slowdowns on the file browser. Did you re-install gamecore to the non-C directory or just move it there?

Note: We have changed the way the file browser works, it populates a list incrementally so you don't have to wait for the whole file to load before you can see something in the list. It was done to prevent the 'freeze" feel of an unpopulated list. It seems this feature is not working for you guys. I would try a clean install on the drive you want and see if that fixes the issue.

Side Note:

If you uninstall GameCore it will still leave a GameCore folder with the projects on the drive. Make sure you delete this on your clean install.

Grab the new version of the editor (2.5.4) and see if that has the same effect. I don't know which version I was running when I tested it on the D drive

Add the following line to the editor's config.cfg (note: NOT your project config.cfg):

ProjectsFolder c:\GameCore\Projects

You can remap the project folder wherever you want.  I'm trying to wrestle innosetup into letting me have this configurable during the install process, but haven't had any luck with it to date.  Hopefully should have this configurable at install time in a future update.

We have updated the file browser to handle large numbers of files / folders better - please let us know if it works / feels better with the latest releases.

I've just tried exporting to web for the first time and tried to create a folder for it to export to and I keep getting this message come up. I hit cancel and it comes up again 5 seconds later and so on. I'm not sure if this is related to the slowdowns or not but it's the floppy drive it has a problem with. I don't use the floppy drive and there's nothing in it so there's nothing to access I think.

Just tried it and it works. Thanks  Cool
