gamecore only supports normal maps, not bump maps? or am I looking in the wrong areas.

Normal maps and bump maps both serve the same purpose but normal maps are more accurate. It's a short answer but i can't say more. go to that page for more information:

Normal maps do essentially the same thing....but with " crisper" edges.

And if you need an easy to use normal map maker, go d/l paint.net and get its normal map plugin.Works very well.

GameCore supports what are traditionally called 'normal maps' and also 'displacement maps', which is what some other apps call bump maps.

Simply put your displacement map in the alpha channel of your normal map and use the 'displacement' value on the surface editor to adjust the amount of 'bumpiness'.
