Hi Merri.  Smiley

First select the terrain and click the "Edit Terrain" button.

Now on the terrain panel you will se various tabs: "Painting, Layers, etc.".
In the "Layers" tabs you will see all the surfaces of the terrain.
You can edit the Layer 1 or add more layers.
Select a Layer and click the "Edit Surface" button.
A window/panel called "Object Surfaces" will appear. In "Difusse Map" you can set the file of a texture.

Now select the layer you want to use to paint. Go to the "Painting" tab and under "Brush Mode" select "Layer Opactity".
Now you can paint your terrain whit the mouse right click and erase whit the left button.

We're working on a series of Video tutorials that will walk you through all of the elements of the interface and basic editing - they will be available very soon - the first couple are done, and making good progress on the other ones.

My goal is to do an ongoing series of video tutorials to cover various tips and tricks as well that are maybe not so obvious (and difficult to document) - should be able to get the first few videos online pretty soon.

This is one of the best way to resolving many GC questions..."on basically all levels of GC".It's not a "written in stone type" Videos rather how tos and other possibilies from user imagination/creativity. Yes!...these series of video tutorials have my vote 5-times. Some developers begining to see the importance of these needed "VIDEO TUTS" that should be available to the users...anyway!. It's a good thing to do and I am glad "GC Engine" is one of them. Cool
