I wouldn't disagree on that for 3DRAD vs Gamecore lol. I'm just letting you guys know its there if you want to check it out. Personally I much prefer Unity3D over Gamecore. I think Gamecore needs a lot of work in speeding it up before I can consider it for a serious project.

I wish Fernado the best of luck, hope the new business model works out for him. 3D Rad is where I first started dabbing into 3d games. I bought a license before I found out about BV / GameCore. I have no regrets about spending my $ for software that is now free, my little contribution is just a drop in the bucket but hopefully just  a little to keep him moving forward Smiley, its kind of like memories of your first girlfriend, you will never forget her  Wink

Personally I much prefer Unity3D over Gamecore. I think Gamecore needs a lot of work in speeding it up before I can consider it for a serious project.

Unity3D...  Shocked, I too was excited when I heard about the Windows version. After extensive use now, personally I feel like its just a flash editor on steriods. I bought a license awhile back and I still use the 3rd party tool EasyRoads3D and the only time I use it is Terrain in... Easy Roads... Terrain Out and then into GameCore. Once Raoul gets his utility setup for obj export, I will be able to use Easy Roads directly with Game Core.

In the time it takes me to get a decent car paint in Unity, I can have a vehicle with great looking paint running and driving around, popping wheelies and spinning donuts in GameCore.

I went through all the Unity tutorials, even that ~100 page platform one  Roll Eyes, then when it comes time to do something on your own... felt like pulling teeth just to move around the world in the editor, let alone write script. I have never read the manual to GameCore, but it has more of a natural feel (both script and world editor)

My results using Unity... http://www.haulinazz.com/Unity/test.html

My results using GameCore... http://www.haulinazz.com/game.htm

You guys should use GameCore and then we could trade script ideas back and forth...

3D RAD is great on its place and shouldn't be compared to GameCore. If it'll be like this then people will compare CryEngine with 3D RAD.

IMO its just about picking the right engine to do the job. but I'll check out 3D Rad, and will likely use it for a while, but I'll probably never leave gamecore seeing as it was the first 3D engine id actually been able to figure out.
