I went haywire with FX  Grin - Love playing with it, put it for the smoke stakes, big smoke out the back, shooting flames and the blue jet stream.

Ah yeah, but don't forget the burnout smoke around the tires. Nice work, looks ballsy.

Just a note, I found heavy particle usage to be quite a punch to the framerates on old laptops. You may want to create low-quality ones yourself with less density.

I opened the old BVdemo that is not so playable any more but the dune buggy and the scene is quite nice. I saw that when I took the dunebuggy and drove on sand it made some fx smoke on the tires. I wish the team could take this old template and change it for the new gamecore.

The tires rotate in all directions and you can't accelerate normally with it.

The reason the old demo created smoke from it's tires is because the wheels in the old vehicle script were actually simulated spheres that rolled along the ground and triggered the CollisionFX opr property.

The new vehicle script uses raycasting to simulate the shocks and the wheels are basically for show - this is why the system is much more stable, but it does have side-effects like not being able to automatically create the collision effects.

The lego vehicle (adventure game template) does have a smoke trail that is generated when you hit the handbrake, so you can see how it's done there.  Having a more persistent 'ground effect' wouldn't be difficult to add.

Very good looking, Ron. The fx is very detailed, with its different phases.

Ron, wow that is looking really good! Few years ago I was married to a man who's family did drag racing. One of the son's had a dragster, my hubby at the time have a tricked out 57 Chevy as well as the father. I wish I had the pictures of me crawling into the cockpit of the dragster to strap in the brother in law. (I was very petite then.) And they took pictures of me sitting in the engine compartment of the 57 aligning the fuel gaps and adding fluids.

Great work Ron!
