Sorry I remove   by mistake the previous topic with the same title

I use 3d world studio and Fragmotion

3D World studio export to .x , .map, .wmp, .dbo, .b3d, .dif
Fragmotion to many animated file formats , normaly I use : .x, and .ms3d

Are a\m file format compatible with GC ?
Or
Which are the most reliable static and animated file formats for GC

I mean, the import module is often a serious issue even for good game engine but , in my opinion it is a key feature
I dont want to cross my finger anytime I want to load a model

What about GC ?

There's a list of supported formats here http://www.gamecore.ca/content/gamecore/streamlined-art-pipeline

I think it tends to be 3ds or obj for static and fbx or ms3d for animated. Looks like you'll have to convert the 3D World Studio export into one of those.

world studio uses CSG type geometry creation, which doesn't really work well with GameCore unfortunately - basically you build your world out of primitives (boxes, etc), but it doesn't actually export the 'compiled' version - ie after all of the primitives are welded together - which is really what you want to use.  the .map format is the 'uncompiled' version, but there are map to obj or 3ds converters available - but this is a pretty painful pipeline for getting content into the engine.

Fragmotion's ms3d format will load directly into the engine though, so you're good on that side.

ms3d animations are natively supported in gamecore.

Thanks

Does GC support the last ms3d file format version i.e. with weights for bones ?

Yes we updated the ms3d loading to support the new weighting system - and also added support for ms3d groups as well (which we had overlooked originally).
