sorry, again. I'm now having a problem with the terrain water. Instead of the player swimming, he just stands on it, as if it were ice. Also, I can't add waves.

i dont remember that button but in the surface properties in the bottom somewhere you have to add another water.shd or something. That should add the waves. I dont know how to fix the collision though yet

Where's the water.shd located and where am I supposed to add it? Doesn't the surface properties just deal with how it looks, not how it acts?
Also, in another test, the character just fell through the water and stood on the ground as if he weren't in water at all.
Finally, the place where you edit waves is in the options tab of the edit terrain window.
Thanks!

Ok, this water thing is getting on my nerves. Please make a tutorial now Gekido because this is just absurd. Nothing happens when adding terrain and messing with settings.

Weird ... I've loaded up the water.shd on the water layer and just turned up the transparency (Edit Terrain -> Layers -> Water Texture -> Edit Surface -> Transparency). I've got it set to 0.52 and it works. But I agree that sometimes it looks black (depends on the viewing angle ?). And I haven't got the waves to work at all. Period. In the game editor I see some "movement" of the water texture, but no displacement. Cheers, Andreas

if you go to the 'Edit Surfaces' panel you will see a specific surface called 'water' - do your application / modifications there.
The way that water shaders and the water behavior in general has been changed completely for the upcoming release to simplify the process.
The water shader that is in the initial Beta release is simply a pixel shader - there is no vertex animation at all.

Got transparency working in the editor because RENDER OPAQUE was ticked in. But now I can't get it to work in the demo because it seems RENDER OPAQUE gets ticked in all the time

Still have problem with transparency. When i look outside my map (i have mountains around map) the water is there and transparent but inside map its now shown. But enemies that are under water level have the water as a texture. So it's kind of inverted on screen. Weird stuff
